PREPARATION OF SFRC
Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) is meticulously prepared by uniformly adding steel fibers throughout the concrete mix in varying percentages, depending on the specific project requirements. The volume of steel fibers added typically ranges from 0.3% to 2.5%, determined by the desired workability and strength of the concrete slab.
Our preparation process involves incorporating the specified amount of steel fibers into the concrete mix using a mixer. The green concrete mixture is then placed into molds to shape the concrete slab according to the desired specifications. Subsequently, the slab undergoes compaction through traditional curing methods.
CHALLENGES IN SFRC PREPARATION
The preparation of SFRC presents challenges that require careful attention and expertise. One notable challenge is the occurrence of balling or segregation, where steel fibers may accumulate into a ball instead of dispersing evenly throughout the entire concrete mix. To address this issue, our team utilizes high energy during the mixing, transferring, molding, and finishing stages of the final product.
To avoid balling or segregation, we employ a pan mixer and a high-quality fiber dispenser, ensuring improved mixing of concrete and steel fibers while minimizing the formation of balls. Our highly trained preparation team focuses on efficiently and carefully preparing the mixture, preventing any issues related to fiber ball formation.
